HOW TO ACTIVATE THE TWO WAY VERIFICATION ACCROSS ALL PLATFORMS.
The increasing number of Facebook hacks has gone overboard in the past 1month, and the hackers are way smarter now. So I'll give us some tips to consider and secure your Facebook account apart from the 2FA verification.
So let's go. Have you ever had your Facebook account hacked, and then your friends get scammed with it, you loose your pictures and memories that you hold dear?
The pain of starting all over again can be tiring. Well fast forward to the main point. It is no news that accounts are now being hacked easily on a daily hence the need to understand some things and try to secure it some more
Before I continue, last year I wrote an article about safety on the web to avoid being hacked. Here is the link, check it out. https://link.medium.com/1conV2wRshb
Moving on, if you have checked that previous link then good, trust me it isn't techy or complex stuff.
Hackers are getting better, in the past 2 weeks, I have attended to over 6 different accounts that was hacked and couldn't get all back because of some extra steps the hackers now take. And this step is simple(I'll explain it later). But moving on, the most important tip I'll share is this 👉🏾
Make sure your name on your government ID card is the same with your name on Facebook. If you have 3 names on id, then put the 3 names on Facebook exactly the way it appears. This might be your last resort when your account is hacked
When all methods and ethical hacks fail, you might need to upload your ID for Facebook to verify it is you and give you access.
when you are hacked, send a mail to security@facebookmail.com telling them of the issue. (although they might reply very late but it's worth the try)
By government ID, 👈🏽I mean (either national ID, voters card, drivers license or international passport)
3: The hierarchy of security from lowest to highest is
>password
>phone number 2fa
>email 2fa
>code generator
SO after you have done your 2 way verification, when your account is hacked, the hackers can put in the code generator making it impossible for you to access. And this code generator is almost impossible to hack because the code changes every 10 seconds.
So do well to do your code generator, download Google authenticator app on your phone. But the con of this is that when your phone loss 🤣e Don finish o🤣.
I’m sure you learnt something.
